Oracle VM VirtualBox is a leading desktop virtualization product for x86 and AMD64/Intel64 processors, spanning a wide range of applications from enterprise to home use. It is used as a standalone product or as a component of other Oracle products such as Oracle Virtual Desktop Infrastructure, offering to run a wide variety of operating systems in a virtual machine on popular host operating systems (Linux, Windows, Solaris, MacOS X). The candidate will be part of an international engineering team responsible for the development of VirtualBox. The workload in the team covers an extremely broad range from system programming in kernel space to high level programming interfaces and scripting. As a consequence the tasks of each developer are also varying within the individual area of expertise. The role will be attractive for either junior or senior software developers who enjoy working in an environment where they continually have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and to acquire new skills, delivering a very popular product which both generates revenue and has an open source community.
